Laboratory of Glass Properties LLC (LGP LLC) is an independent research center established in 2000 by Dr. Oleg A. Prokhorenko to provide variety of research services (consulting and literature search, measurements of physical properties of glasses and melts influencing their processing behavior, development of computer modeling software for the glass industry).

Although LGP is a new name in the market of commercial research services, it is actually a successor of the Laboratory of Physical and Chemical Glass Properties (LPCGP) of the Institute of Silicate Chemistry. LPCGP (often called by shorter name LGP in the past) was well known among glass researchers since early 60's for studies of physical properties of glasses in a broad temperature range (with special attention to the glass transition range), relaxation phenomena, phase separated and porous glasses, as well as for publishing Handbook of Glass Data. By starting glass property measurements for foreign customers in early 90's this laboratory took an important step in commercial application of glass science potential.

Prof. Oleg V. Mazurin (the head of LPCGP in 1963 - 1999) is working for LGP as its Chief Scientist now. Among LGP Customers - 20 first-rate glass manufacturing Companies (Corning Inc. (USA), Glaverbel (Belgium), JSJ Jodeit GmbH (Germany), Osram Sylvania (USA), PQ Corporation (USA), Visteon (USA) and others) and their associations such as CGR at Alfred University (USA) and GMIC (USA).

Currently LGP has 27 employees including high-level glass scientists, mathematicians, programmers, and engineers. LGP often hires sub-contractors from leading research institutions of Russian Federation.
